Good afternoon and happy Monday everyone!
We have had a beautiful start to the week where we welcomed our friends; Ruby, Abraham, Brayden, Rosie, Abel, Diego, Lincoln, Delilah, Augie and Millie. We started off in the big side yard where our friends expressed interest in the bikes. Our friends are improving very quickly in being able to balance on two wheels instead of three! We also enjoyed reading some books in the sun and saying hello to friends who were arriving to kindy!
When it was time to transition for morning tea we sat down at the gate and turned on our wings to fly over to our room together to sing ‘Bee Bee’ and enjoy Loaded vegie breaky muffins together.
After morning tea, our friends were able to enjoy some spontaneous play indoors. Brayden, Diego, Abraham loved stacking the building blocks, Millie, Abel and Ruby had a ball racing around on bee scooters and the hoppy cows. Delilah and Augie had a peaceful time in book corner together, Rosie enjoyed cooking in home corner at the BBQ and Lincoln was intrigued but the colour/shape puzzle. Today we also welcomed Liz, Charlie, Halle and Luna from Babies 3 who are transitioning to our Room. The girls went straight to our Home corner where they were fascinated with the kitchen play and dolls. Brayden, Lincoln and Rosie went for a play in Senior Kindy (How excited!!!).
Then, for group time Miss Thais introduced our theme for the week which is Ocean Week!! We enjoyed a sensory activity where Miss Thais made blue coloured pasta, cotton buds and sea animals all together in our own DIY ocean! Our friends loved using their imagination and feeling through the pasta and making wave, dolphin, fish and whale noises. We are excited to learn more about the ocean and how we can take care of it!
Afterwards Miss Emma surprised us with a practice fire drill. Our friends were amazing with using there listening ears and following instructions that were given to them. They are growing so fast and we are so proud of our friends! After the fire drill we continued to stay outdoors and enjoy some peaceful sand pit play in the shade before making our way back indoors for lunch and rest. Before lunch time Miss Thais read “Wheels” book where we transitioned to the room pretending to be cars going fast and slow.
We are now resting our bodies and will be up and ready for more play soon!
Much love; Miss Thais, Maddi and Jordan
