Welcome to another Wednesday here in the Toddler Room at Riversdale Early Learning! We kicked off the day in Home Corner for some pretend play. William was a wonderful shop-keeper and kept his friends well stocked with food for the week. We then transitioned to Morning Tea where the children further developed their self-help skills by serving their own food today. Harvey had a blast putting lots of food onto his plate! The children then moved onto various experiences around the room. A popular activity was free drawing in the art area. Ryan was busy drawing a snapping crocodile while Ivy drew some stairs for her to climb.

Miss Leesa then gathered all the materials necessary for our science experiment today: Making an Erupting Volcano!!! The children gathered around the table enthusiastically before they all took turns assisting Miss Leesa to set up the experiment. The children gasped in wonder as the volcano ‘erupted’ sending the bubbles everywhere! There was lots of requests for ‘more, more’ so Miss Leesa kept on adding the vinegar until it stopped bubbling. We then repeated the experiment again using a different colour. Once our experiment was over, Miss Leesa brought over our experiment from Monday for the children to observe.  We inspected the flowers to see which ones had absorbed  the colour dye and which ones hadn’t. The children concluded that the blue had worked, while the other flowers were still white. The children then moved on to some Small World Play on the purple mat using the Lego’s as their props.

Wow! What a fun day we had in the Toddler Room Today. We can’t wait to see you all again!

Love Miss Leesa & Miss Jess
