Good afternoon!
We have had a beautiful day today! This morning was so exciting as all parents got to drop their babies off in our rooms and outside, of course our friends loved showing you their play space! This morning Nikora, Isabelle, Orion, Tua, Isla, Onyx, Nayla, Ruby, Ava and Millie showed a lot of interest in books, sensory tub with sand and water and the bikes. We enjoyed the morning warmth before if became too hot! Before we transitioned inside for morning tea Toddler 1 & 2 sat down together and we sung ‘Twinkle Twinkle’ , ‘Old McDonald’ and the famous ‘Bee Bee Bumble Bee’!
After morning tea our friends had the opportunity to have spontaneous play. Tua, Orion and Ava loved the car mat with different trucks, Isla, Onyx and Ruby showed interest in the wooden puzzles, Millie adored the baby doll corner and Isabelle and Nayla enjoyed reading books. For group time today we extended on our theme for the week which is Australia. We read our current favorite book “Australian Animals”, enjoying the different textures of animals throughout the book. We then sung “Welcome to Country” and made our own boomerangs! We cut out a boomerang shapes and dabbed yellow, black, and red paint on top singing “dab, dab, dab ” while they carefully dabbed the paint on. This activity helped our friends practice patience while they waited their turn, improve fine motor skills, and learn more about our beautiful country and our ancestors.
After group time; Miss Dom did a mediation with us, our friends were so quiet and listening so well to taking big deep breaths and calming down to help us play quietly inside before a big yummy lunch. We are now resting our bodies and rejuvenating for a busy play this afternoon!
