Hello families and friends and welcome to ‘Terrific Tuesday’ in the Toddler room. Today we continued on with NAIDOC WEEK experiences. Yarn time we shared one of our favourite big book stories entitled ‘Animals around the Billabong’. Ryan identified the platypus as his favourite animal, Kaylee choose the Koala, Ellie chose the echidna and William chose the kangaroo. We discovered that a billabong is another term for a waterhole where all the animals in the book gathered to drink. Miss Jess prepared an art experience for the children where they were given the opportunity to create their own interpretation of the Aboriginal flag using red, yellow and black collage materials. The children had a wonderful time gluing and creating the flag. Miss Gabby then joined us for yoga. The children are doing so well with singing the songs, playing games and practicing their poses. The puppy dog waging his tail is our favourite pose at the moment and also crawling under Miss Gabby’s tunnel. Exploring the outdoor environment was great fun today. The children practised their climbing skills on the obstacle course, collecting river rocks in the red wheelbarrows and playing hide and seek behind the big trees. What a super fun and busy day at kindy today….
Until next time…
Love Miss Leesa and Miss Jess…
