Happy Monday families,

This morning the children were excited to venture outdoors to explore the playground. The children spent their morning climbing, riding bikes and also showed interest in cars and trucks where we play on the cars mat. We sang our Group Time song “Hello how are you” and “bee bee bumble bee” then transitioned inside where we washed our hands and sat at the table for morning tea.

Tomorrow our friend Tai is turning two, so we decided to make cupcakes today. Making cake is a great activity to teach children how to mix. It is a great chance for the children to build upon their self-help skills and independence. The children were able to use fine motor skills while mixing the cake ingredients together using the utensils. We prepared all the materials needed for the cooking activity such as mixing bowl, cupcake tray, patty pan, big spoon and whisk. The children had their turn holding the whisk and mixing the ingredients.

Later in the morning Miss Bec did a handprint activity with them for our NAIDOC week where she painted their hands representing the Aboriginal flag and it’s colours. After Miss Hayley came to the room We also had Yoga before we get ready for lunch and sleep.

Love Miss Thais and Miss Bec
