Happy Wednesday everyone!!! Today in the Toddler room we celebrated National Simultaneous Storytime Day. All of the children in each room gathered on the mat to share the story entitled ‘Alpacas with Maracas’ by Matt Cosgrove at 11am. A book about two alpacas named Macca and Al who are best friends and decide to enter a talent contest together. The children responded beautifully to the story as they shared their thoughts, ideas and opinions and each had a cuddle of our very own classroom alpaca that we affectionally named ‘fluffy’ because of his soft fur. We thought tomorrow it would be fun to extend on this experience by making our own maracas using recycled materials. Today we also continued on with train play due to the children’s ongoing interest with this type of transport play. The children are doing so well with building and designing the track along with Miss Jess’ guidance as they create bridges and tunnels for the electric trains. Other play interests today included role play with the doll house, puzzle play, building towers with the ABC blocks and playing sleeping bunnies on the spotty mat. What a super fun day of learning and play….
Love Miss Leesa and Miss Jess…
