Hello Families and Friends! 😊
A warm welcome from toddlers Two.

With our arms open and a big smile in our faces we welcomed in our team : Edward, Thomas, Oliver, Cameron, Indi, Mathias, Noah, Kynell, Beau, Jackson and Peyton.

The toddlers were so excited to play and explore their environment today!
Our day began with our friends having so much fun in the yard- The sandpit was the favorite spot in this morning and our friend’s choice for a playtime together – they were sharing the sand toys, and were busy using their imagination as they helped one another making sand food, creating some delicious treats for each other. Thomas excitedly said: “food is ready” and Noah commented: “Dinner time”. Miss Gabi asked the children  “What did you guys cook?” Thomas answered: “is sand food”. – Was amazing seeing the children engage so happily and cooperatively with one another. 😊

The time passes so fast when we are having fun then it is time to pack away the playground and start our morning routines. In our group time today we all sat down on the mat to say hello to our friends, before enjoying a lovely book  “Happy birthday, Spot” – To celebrate Miss Steph`s birthday (she is helping us in Toddlers today as Miss Jess is away sick). After the story  we all sang happy birthday to her, the children loved it, and we all say together “HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEPH”.
This week we will focus on “reconciliation week” that will start at 27th May, however we decided to start the celebration little bit early around here. So, after story time Miss Gabi played a special Aboriginal song for our friends, extending their interest in music and music instruments. Then she gave to each child two chop sticks, so they followed the melody using the aboriginal clapping the sticks. We cannot be prouder of our friends; they did a fabulous performance in the group time. By encouraging children to play aboriginal clapping sticks we are also helping then eyes hand eye  coordination and exploring rhythm.

Now it was time to transition to morning tea using one of our favourite songs “bee bee bumble bee” to transition us to handwashing.

For morning tea today, we had a delicious Tutty Fruity Trifle with Mangoes, custard and crunchy granola served with bananas, dried fruit and yogurt. In our morning time today the children engage in a self-help skills activity to self-served their own plats. Using tongs each friend had a turn to pick up what they want to. What a great opportunity for us to be independent, make choices and develop our fine motor skills. The children thoroughly enjoyed exploring using the tongs today and we were so proud of them showing such confidence.

With our tummy full was time another adventure 😊 Exploring our nice outdoor environment we decided to have a “outside classroom” then we set up two different tables in the yard for the children engage with.

– Craft and art – Using green, red, blue and pink paint, glitter and paint brush our friends had the opportunity to express their creativity as they decorated the aboriginal clapping sticks. The children through this experience were able to explore colour as they identified the colours they wanted to use both independently and with support, as well as developing their fine motor skills.

– Sensory play The  children had the opportunity to explore the playdough where they – squished, rolled, sculpted and modelled wither using their hands or the tools provided. The children particularly enjoyed making snakes and balls.

– Yoga time – In the end of the morning we had Miss Hailey here teaching us the beautiful yoga techniques, lying  down and stretching.

For lunch time today another delicious meal a Authentic Italian Baked Ziti.

Was an amazing morning around here, now we are having a lovely rest time in our beds listening to soft music and relaxing by charging our energy for another big play outside in the afternoon!

With love,

Miss Gabi, Miss Hope and Miss Steph.
