Happy Monday.

Hello families of the Toddler Two children, welcome to our beautiful day here at Riversdale Early Learning Centre.

This morning as the children were dropped off they were greeted with warm smiles and open arms by the educators as they set foot to their classroom. They explored their room and the activities set out on the table such as puzzles and books. Noah, Edward, Indi, Cameron and Mathias were at the table using their problem solving skills to finish the puzzles.  Miss Hope also donated more books to our classroom for the children to dive deep into. Thomas was VERY intrigued in the ”School Bus” book as he was flipping through the pages and really took in the illustrations on each page. Reading to your children is a great way to form a bond, exposes children to a wider language and vocabulary as well as it can help calm them down. We enjoy reading to your cherubs, just as they LOVE listening and even having their own choice to look through books themselves. As more children arrived and all our friends were here we then helped to pack away the classroom before we came together on the group mat with Miss Crystal. In group time Miss Crystal read a book called ”Ten Little Dinosaurs” Noah said ”Oooh” as he pointed at the dinosaurs on the page, then everyone said ”Dinosaurs, Dinosaurs”. When the book was finished we sang the transition song before washing hands to sit down for a tasty morning tea which was a Loaded Veggie Breakfast Muffin.

The weather was so lovely this morning and we thought we would have the doors open for the children to choose if they wanted to go inside or outside. Most of the children eagerly ran outside to venture around the yard and to seek their journey of wonder and a wide range of exploration. Jackson, Spencer and Oliver enjoyed their time in the sandpit. They were using the shovel to fill their bucket up with sand before tipping it out and doing it again. Oliver said ”Miss Jess help” as Oliver handed Miss Jess the bear to help fill up to make a bear sculpture. Beau, Cameron, Noah and Edward had so much fun pushing around the trucks in the sandpit and around the bike track. Mia, Avery, Peyton were on the swing along with some of their friends from Toddler One. Mia also likes to help push the swing for her friends.

For our activity today Miss Hope was inside with a small group of children as they were able to have a fun sensory play with flour. As this week we are focusing on feelings the children were showed some faces thy could draw in the flour, Edward said ”Miss Hope I make Cake”. The children thoroughly enjoyed this flour experience and drawing all kinds of things throughout the flour with their fingers and hands. Sensory play is a great way to enhance on their hand and eye coordination, it helps builds neural connections in the brain it also is a fun way for children to learn more about a variety of senses.

Miss Hayley then arrived for yoga. All children ran up to the stage area to meet with Miss Hayley. Today in yoga they practiced their breathing with the breathing ball. As the horse from next door came close to the fence to say a lovely hello to our friends while doing yoga, Miss Hayley then showed the children the horse pose. They did a great job in yoga today and listened so nicely.

It was then time for our last morning outdoor adventure before we came inside for a very scrumptious lunch which was Delicious Plant Based Chick’ N Peas Curry with Turmeric and Rice, before a restful reenergised sleep for this afternoons whirl of fun, imagination and laughter.

Thank you all for today♥

See you all soon,

Miss Jess, Miss Hope and Miss Crystal xx
