♥ GOOD AFTERNOON BABIES ONE! ♥
In the Morning Miss Otavia, Miss Hansani, and Miss T’arn welcomed our friends, Jordan, Bentley, Fletcher, and Shayaan to Babies 2 this morning. We stayed in B2 for a little play before heading into our classroom to get ready for our morning naps as Miss T’arn could see the children were getting tired. After getting into our cots Miss Shae arrived. The children enjoyed a nice morning nap before waking for some yummy morning tea.
For our group time today, Miss Shae sat on the mat with the children and started our group time with “If you’re happy and you know it” as the children like this song and enjoy clapping their hands. After singing If you’re happy and you know it Miss Shae read “that’s not my wombat.” Jordan and Shayaan were trying to touch and feel the book as Miss Shae was reading and Fletcher was so engaged listening to the whole story. We did some facial recognition, eyes, ears, mouth, & nose. Jordan had a big smile on his face and made a little giggle sound when we pointed to our noses and then his. To finish off our group time today we sang “Bee bee bumble bee” for name recognition and language development. The children are recognising this song now and get happy when they hear us sing it.
Today Miss Shae created a fun experience for us to do to continue with our Sensory and Fine Motor Skills. She made some red jelly and hid some toys inside for the children to explore and find. When we put the tray of Jelly on the table Jordan was trying to climb onto the table to get straight in there. He did not hesitate to pick up the Jelly and put it straight into his mouth to taste it. He started to make an “mmm” sound and his breathing got fast and heavy as he got excited. Jordan found some of the toys in the Jelly and pulled them out with his fingers. He began to eat the Jelly from the toy. Fletcher was more hesitant with the Jelly. He touched it with the tips of his fingers at first, investigating the texture. Miss T’arn had some jelly in her hand and was feeling it with her fingers, showing fletcher. He noticed a toy inside the jelly and began to slowly dig through the layer of jelly before being able to grab the toy in his hand. He was looking at the toy for a little bit before going back to the Jelly and slowly putting a piece in his mouth to taste. When he tasted the Jelly, it made his body shiver! Shayaan was so excited to get is hands in the tray, He went in with both his hands and was grabbing handfuls of jelly at a time. He had the biggest smile on his face as he squeezed and squeezed the Jelly in his hands.
The children have really enjoyed all the experiences we have planned for their sensory and Fine Motor Development. We plan to continue with some more experiences to extend on each child’s interest next week! Miss T’arn and Miss Shae have found some more great experiences to try next week! We know the children will love it! We also plan to do more obstacle courses outside in the yard to encourage physical activity and extend on their climbing interest. We would love to hear what activities your children like to do at home? We are thinking of doing some baking in the next few weeks. We would love to know what you all think.
We hope you all have an amazing weekend!
♥ Much Love Always, Miss T’arn and Miss Shae ♥
