Hello everyone,

Welcome to a wonderful Wednesday here in Kindergarten 1!

This morning we all engaged in a lovely group time, completing our daily calendar and sang some of our favorite songs to start our day πŸ™‚ Following that, Kindy class re-energized their bodies with lots of water and some refreshing morning tea. We then began our activities for the day.

Kindergarten got to continue on from our treasure map making! We each got to add on some drawings and decorate our maps how we wanted. Some of us added islands, ships, palm trees, animals, oceans and flags, etc. It is awesome to see the children use their imaginations and create their very own treasure maps. We will then aim to learn how to put our maps to use and follow a real one!

We also got to experience the number hunting game again and really explore our classroom environment to discover the numbers in different places. This activity has been awesome for the children to problem solve, use their thinking hats and become very observant in their hunt. It is also great as it helps them build a sense of independence as they can tackle this task themselves and hopefully instils a desire to challenge themselves and gain a sense of pride when they accomplish things πŸ™‚

Today we got stuck into a fun craft and collage activity that required cutting, gluing and searching for letters throughout a magazine. We each had to look for the letters of our names and paste it onto a piece of paper. Although it was a simple activity, it required us to really think and concentrate on creating our name in special writing!

Kindy class then got to attend their weekly Little Big Sports soccer lesson while the rest of us enjoyed a sports and movement session with Mr Andrew. Today we did a tricky and exciting bean bag challenge. We participated in bean bag balancing and each child had to copy the educator’s moves like balancing the bean bag on their head, on their foot etc. The children then got a chance to be the leader and do a move that the others copied. This game helped the children develop gross motor skills like balancing, moving their bodies in different ways, being able to copy others and come up with original ideas. We had lots of fun!

Time then came for us all to enjoy some lunch and fill our bellies up so we can recharge for the rest of our Wednesday.

Thank you friends for a happy day and we will see you all very soon πŸ™‚

P.S. Kindergarten 1 would love to wish Carter a very happy birthday today! Although he wasn’t with us today we have acknowledged and wished him a blessed day and can’t wait for him to come back to Kindy as a big 5 year old Kindergarten classmate πŸ™‚

Kind regards,

Mr Andrew and Miss Tatyana
