Hello families and welcome to our day here in the Kindergarten room.

What a blossoming Friday it has been today! I look forward to telling you all about it.

This morning all children were greeted with a friendly smile from Miss Livia before they were taken outside where the adventure and imagination begins. Harper and Astrid participated in colouring in a HAPPY BIRTHDAY poster for Mr Andrew!! All children were so excited to say happy birthday to Mr Andrew as well to help celebrate this special day with the birthday song!

Throughout the morning glory of fun, Harper enjoyed watering the plants as she shows how to effectually care for her surrounding environment. Mace, Wyatt and Astrid loved sliding down the slide as I could hear many laughs and giggles! Eva, Ellie and Mariah enjoyed making wands out of the connectors, they danced around with their wands while they thought of magical things to appear or turning their friends into frogs!! ahhh watch out! Imagination is a beautiful thing to have as there is no limit to what a child’s mind can come up with. Imagination enhances on the child’s language, self confidence, social skills and so much more! I have left a quote from Einstein about his view on imagination and creativity.

Einstein said, “Imagination is more important than knowledge.” Imagination is the door to possibilities. It is where creativity, ingenuity, and thinking outside the box begin for child development. Imaginative and creative play is how children learn about the world. During imaginative play, children manipulate materials, express themselves verbally and non-verbally, plan (intentionally or unintentionally), act, interact, react, and try different roles.

I will also leave the link as there are some good tips on how to nurture their creative minds. https://www.brighthorizons.com/family-resources/nurturing-creativity-and-imagination-for-child-development

Soon it was time for morning tea and afterwards it was then group time!! For group time today we went through our roll, calendar and had special helpers to change the date, day and weather. We also sang our autumn song andddd went through our slideshow about BONES!!!!! HOW AWESOME! This whole week we have learned something new about our bodies and the children have shown great concentration and that they are all involved and confident learners. After talking about what our bones are, how many bones children have and what is good for our bones, we then did some fun activities . Miss Jess drew the outline of Harpers and Ellies body before their friends drew all their bones using chalk. Miss Jess then had the children laying down on the line where she would measure how tall our friends are, when it came to the end result all children weren’t that far behind each other, it opened up a lot of conversation!

We then all came inside after doing this – Children are all LOVING building with the Lego! From making houses to farms, spaceships and so much more! On the table Miss Jess had set up an feelings game where they had to identify the feeling on the card before they would move to the matching square on the board and if they were to get a star they would answer a question such as “What was the best memory that made you so excited” Children really enjoyed playing this game with their friends.

Before lunch Miss Jess decided to shake all the sillies out and there is no better way to do musical statues!!! WE ALL DANCED OUR SOULS OUT! Lots of smiles and laughs were shared that’s for sure.

After lunch our friends rested their bodies as they quietly played activities, read some books or did some quiet relaxation time as they reenergise for the afternoon fun.

This afternoon depending on the rain – children may or may not head outside HOWEVER they will all have an amazing afternoon filled with joy.

Thankyou Kindergarten for this week and both Mr Andrew and Miss Jess hope you all have a safe and well weekend.

See you all next week,

Mr Andrew and Miss Jess.
