Happy Monday Everyone!
We hope you all had a lovely weekend. This morning, after a nice play outside, we joined together on the mat to start our day with a group time. This gave the children the opportunity to share stories from their weekend, greet their friends, warm up our voices to some songs such as ‘Days of the week’ and ‘Skinner Marinky’ before our friend Emerson shared his Adventures with Bob the Sloth. Bob the sloth is our Pre-Kindergarten Mascot who use to go on so many adventures before COVID. He’s had a little break from traveling to the children’s homes for the weekend but now he’s back! His first adventure was with Emerson to Noosa! Emerson was super excited to share the photos and stories from his holiday with his family. The scrapbook looks amazing, thank you to Emerson’s parents for getting involved too!
We then transitioned off to activity time where the children chose to do water colour painting, drawing, hair dressing, building with the magnet shapes, home corner and racing around on the bikes. On the drawing table we had a few request to do another ‘How to Draw’ video on youtube to learn how to draw a chicken and tiger. The video shows you step by step, how to draw it and encourages you to involve your own interpretations.
Our Yoga lesson with Miss Hayley was a great way for us to be aware of our bodies. The children are becoming very involved in their yoga lesson, curious about the poses and wanting to learn more.
Before lunch the group were calm and engaged in our story time where Miss TJ read a Christmas story about the Gold Coast that Emerson brought in. We can’t believe its nearly Christmas. The children are already starting to have discussions about Christmas. Pre-Kindergarten were very exhausted after their big morning that they all had a much needed rest.
Have a great afternoon,
Miss TJ and Miss Lyn xx
