Happy Friday families and friends…

Today after a super fun play of riding bikes, taking turns on the see-saw and playing games with the hoops, the Senior kindy children happily transitioned indoors for more fun, learning and play. This morning Miss Leesa collected the large chalkboard from the playground and positioned it on the mat for the children to continue their drawing and writing skills. Harper and Romney drew big circles on the chalkboard and Conall drew big long lines. The children have really taken an interest in drawing recently and in particular explaining what they are drawing to their peers and educators. Christopher, Harper and Romney then engaged in small group play with the new doll house and accessories. Christopher said he was ‘making a shop’ as he carefully positioned the furniture to role play. Alek and Bjorn enjoyed transport play with the emergency stations. The children gathered all the emergency vehicles, lined them up and then raced them down the ramps.

The children then gathered in book corner to share some of Miss Leesa’s group time books from the shelf. Today the children chose ‘Koala’s Big Day’ and ‘Where’s Daddy Giraffe?’. The children enjoyed sharing the books with Miss Shanaya and then having a turn of browsing through the books independently. Latika then joined the group and was excited to join in on a game of ‘sleeping bunnies’, ‘follow-the-leader’ and ‘dingle dangle scarecrow’. Harper then requested the puppets and felts for yarn time as the children all gathered on the pillows to sing ‘Little Turtle’,’ Brown Bear, Brown Bear’ and ‘Galomp’. The children were excited to have a turn of the puppets and felts as they all sang along. Other play experiences today included puzzle play, role play in home corner, building and making towers with the connector blocks and role play with the dinosaur figurines.

Until next time…

Love Miss Leesa
