Happy Monday families and friends…

Today in the Senior Kindy room we welcomed our new friend ‘Wilder’ to our little family. We hope you have had a wonderful day exploring and meeting new friends and we can’t wait to see you again tomorrow. This week we will be focusing on and learning all about ‘Australian Animals’. This morning during Yarn Time we shared a story about a variety of different Australian animals who all followed each other through the bush to attend a ‘dance’, entitled ‘Wombat went-a-Walking’. The children helped identify an emu, kookaburra, crocodile, echidna, magpie, turtle, and goanna in the story. To further extend on this theme the children were given the opportunity to role play with our Australian animal figurines along with the red playdough. The children made footprints in the dough and some friends carefully placed the dough on the animals back and added paddle pop sticks to create an echidna. We will continue on with this theme for the rest of the week.

Today also saw the return of our much loved ‘Yoga Session’. The children eagerly gathered on the green mat to learn a variety of animal poses as they happily followed Miss Haley. The children also enjoyed working in pairs on the animal matching puzzle, engaging in transport play with the emergency stations and sharing stories in book corner.

Until next time…

Love Miss Leesa and Miss Tatyana
