Hello friends and families,
This morning we welcomed Luca, Poppy, Zilo, Dominic, Rumi, Alanis, Kezia, Lincoln amd Archie into the yard along with our friends from Pre kindy and the two kindergarten rooms. Our friends spent the morning climbing over the obstacle courses, swinging on the swing and playing in the home corner koutdoor kitchen. The weather then turned, and it started to rain so off we ran indoors. We sat on the mat where Miss Bec read us Poppy’s favourite book that she brought in for us to share, called “my holiday”. This week our topic is ‘animals’, so we also read “what animal is it”. The children had to try amd guess what animal was behind the pop up, by Miss Bec describing the noise that it makes and where it lives. We then sang bee bee bumble bee, before washing our hands and sitting down for morning tea.
After morning tea, Miss Bec set up a painting table and a play dough table. On the play dough table, there was also “water” which was blue cellophane, dinosaurs and farm animals, and the green “grass” which was our play dough. The children enjoyed role playing and feeding the dinosaurs by also giving them a drink of water. The children also enjoyed painting on colourful paper, saying what they were attempting to paint. Poppy said she was painting a turtle, Luca, a dinosaur, Alanis, puppy and Kezia, an elephant. The children were free too roam between the two tables and also enjoy free play in the room which included, building blocks and home corner.
We then sat down for another group time where we sang “the wheels on the bus”, “one little finger” and “bee bee bumble bee” before transitioning to wash our hands and sitting down for lunch.
