Happy Thursday families and friends…
Today in the Senior Kindy room our friend Cohen kindly brought along a lovely book about a “Koala” for Yarn Time as we continued on with our Australian Animals theme. We discovered in the story that the Koala is not a bear like a polar bear or panda bear but quite simply a Koala that likes to sun himself and sleep in a tree. We also sang our new favourite song ‘Home among the Gum Trees’ along with some fun actions. The children have really responded well to the animal theme and were given the opportunity to paint their favourite Australian animal today. The children utilised the cotton buds to paint and the animal figurines as inspiration. The children painted their interpretation of a wombat, koala and an echidna.
Mr Daniel returned today for ARAKAN. The children were so excited to venture out to the front playground and carefully listen to Mr Dan’s instructions. The children had running races and practiced several martial arts skills as they all joined in. When we returned indoors the children were given the opportunity to engage in a variety of experiences of their choice including building with the magnetic tiles, role play with the recycled keyboards and phones, puzzle play, constructing with the lego, transport play and sensory playdough play with the paddle pop sticks and shape cutters.
WOW… What a super busy day of fun, learning and play in the Senior Kindy room today…
Until next time…
