Happy Tuesday families and friends…
Today in the Senior Kindy room we welcomed our new friend Cruiz into the Riversdale family. We hope you had lots of fun today Cruiz and made some new friends..This morning we continued on with our Australian Animals theme as we shared the ‘Wombat went-a-Walking’ story book again. We also started learning the Australian children’s song ‘Home among the Gum Trees’. The children really enjoy singing and learning new songs so we added the funny rhyme ‘Mr Clicketty Cane’ to our song list as well.
After morning tea the children transitioned into a variety of fun experiences. The children were given the opportunity work in pairs to complete the large animal matching puzzle. The children also enjoyed sensory playdough play using the Australian Animal figurines to role play. The children practiced their drawing skills on the chalkboard and utilised the crayons to draw pictures using the easel. Other play experiences today included role play with the baby dolls, building with the connector blocks and magnetic tiles and play with the fire and police stations.
If anyone has children’s books at home about Australian Animals they would like to bring along for our group time to share that would be greatly appreciated… Thanks so much…
