Hello Riversdale families,
Hope you are having a positive Tuesday!
After a big play outside upon arrival, we transitioned inside smoothly as a cohort and sat on the mat for our morning group time! As usual, we said our Acknowledgment to Country and sang our Good Morning songs as we welcomed one another. We love to start our day in an inclusive and positive way together 😊 During group time, we also read the story ‘The Book Week Monster’ since some of us really enjoyed it yesterday and how it relates to our week of BOOK WEEK at Kindy! Some of us who came with costumes today showed all of their friends who they dressed up as😊 Cohen stood up and showed us his superhero cape along with the ‘Superhero Dad’ book that he brought for Book week. Thank you Cohen for sharing!
After we re-energized our little bodies with morning tea, we enjoyed some free-play inside our classroom. Today, there was many things for us to chose from and engage in. We got to play with some green play-dough and materials to make some of the green monsters inspired by the story we read today 😊 There was also a whole table of princess and castle activities like some castle building blocks and puzzles. We participated in some creative drawing/painting with our bright paint pens and loved some home corner play and role play of doctors/nurses. We love exploring our room and using our imaginations within every activity!
Once we all used our self-help skills and packed away all the toys we played with, we all got ourselves ready for big lunch and a rest. Before then, we sat together for our afternoon group time and sang our favorite songs and had some open discussions about what we enjoyed playing with today and what we would love to read and dress up as for the remainder of Book Week.
