Happy Friday families and friends…

Well… What a super fun day of learning and play in the Toddler room today. This morning we enjoyed an extended play in the great outdoors. The children had a wonderful time collecting water from the sinks in their watering cans to give the plants a big drink. Bike riding was great fun as the children are really enjoying racing on the new 3-wheeler bikes round and round the bike track. Some friends decided to venture up the grass hill and then race back down on the bikes. The children also worked in small groups to build a big giant sandcastle in the sandpit with the large shovels. Miss Jen then arrived for Funky Feet Dance and we all decided it would be super fun to engage in our weekly dance session on the outdoor stage today. The children played sleeping bunnies, musical statues and practised stretching. ‘Gucci’ the big brown horse from the back paddock then came for a visit while the children were dancing, so Miss Jen encouraged the children to gallop like a horse. The Toddler friends also observed pretty black and white butterflies dancing in the grass in the paddock.

The Toddlers then transitioned indoors for our ‘Acknowledgment to Country’ and morning Yarn Time. The children have responded so well to all the lovely new story books we have introduced this week. I think our favourites have definitely been ‘Horaay for Fish’ and ‘Where’s Daddy Giraffe’. Other play experiences today included role play with the fire station and police station set. This experience has been great for encouraging the children to practise turn taking  and sharing with peers. The children also expressed their creativity with thick brush painting as they were given the opportunity to choose their favourite colours.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend…

Love Miss Leesa, Miss Livia and Miss Ana
