Welcome back families and friends from the long weekend! We hope you all had time to relax and enjoy Father’s Day. We hear that a few friends managed to visit the Gold Coast Show on the Broadwater… So FUN!

Today in the Toddler One room the children were keen to participate in our  “Acknowledgment to Country’ and morning group songs. Harry, Harvey and Ivy are doing so well with following along with the actions and were able to demonstrate and teach our friend Kyro who came along for a transition play today. Morning tea time the children helped identify the lovely fresh fruit including pineapple, strawberries and blueberries mixed with yummy yoghurt. Delicious! Harry and Harvey kept asking for ‘more please’ as they enjoyed their meal.

Play time today the children chose some of their favourite experiences. The children built farms and transport vehicles with the Lego set and Miss Leesa assisted when the children asked for help. Kyro was excited to explore the new room and kept busy reading books in ‘Book Corner’, role playing with the baby dolls and playing hide and seek in the cubby house.

Miss Jess prepared an art experience due to Harvey’s ongoing interest with drawing and being creative. Harvey helped choose the colours and all the children were given the opportunity to spend some one on one time with Miss Jess as they carefully spread the pretty colours all over their page to create patterns, swirls and stripes. The children really enjoy taking their time to paint and express their creativity and are becoming more vocal in making meaning out of their creations which they are starting to share.

Mid Morning the children participated in a fire drill. The children all calmly congregated on the grass in the playground. This experience encouraged a conversation about being safe when we see a fire.

Well… what a wonderfully busy and fun day we have had at Kindy today…

Until next time…

Love Miss Leesa & Miss Jess
