Good morning parents and friends and happy Friday! Today was a wonderful day in our Toddlers Two room. We cannot wait to tell you what our friends got up to.

We started off our day outside on the playground, soaking up what we have left of this extremely pleasant weather. We did a combination of inside/outside play where a few friends came inside to do some nature art using dried leaves and bark we had collected, while the others continued their play outside.

It’s really great observing the children in the playground and how they connect and communicate with one another. Today we saw Kezia standing at the top of the ramp and offer her hand to Noah who was trying to climb up. They all also stood at the top of the slide waiting for one another to go down before they had their own turn, cheering as each child slid down.

We then all came inside, washed our hands and ate our yummy morning tea. Sadly dancing has been postponed at kindy until further notice. However, Miss Steph sat everyone down on the mat and we played our own games, sang songs and read stories. We sang one of our favourite songs ‘Sleeping Bunnies’ and every joined in lying down and then getting up and hopping around, singing the song. We also did all different animals that the children suggested such as a snake, a lion, a kangaroo and a monkey.

We then did some sensory play as Miss Steph prepared some really fun chia seeds. A blue bowl and a clear bowl to represent the sky and the land that we sung about in our Acknowledgement song during group time on the mat. The children particularly loved this activity as they love to feel the slimy and squishy sensation between their fingers, whilst also combining the two different colours together.
