Good Afternoon families,

This morning Miss Thais, Bec and Maddi welcomed Onyx, Lara, Parker, Nayla, Zahra, Millie, Dominic, Diego, Ivy, Abel and Rumi into the yard. This morning the children showed interest in the colouring in station that was set up outside. They were able to use different coloured crayons and texters to draw all over the page, working on their fine motor and pincer-grip skills. Miss Bec also set up two foam mats where she taught them how to do some somersaults. The children loved this and after a while, were perfectionists! This was really good for the children to get in their daily physical activity.

Miss Thais then sat us down where she read us a book and sang out good morning songs. She then sang ‘bee bee bumble bee’ before we transitioned inside to wash our hands and sit down for morning tea.

After morning tea, the children enjoyed some indoor free play. Today, the children enjoyed playing in home corner, role playing ‘mums and dads’  with the baby doll and their beds as well as building big, tall towers with blocks. Role play is a fun way for children to enhance their imagination and creativity skills whilst communicating and socialising with their friends. Because the children enjoyed the colouring in station outdoors so much this morning, Miss Thais decided to print off some more colouring sheets in ‘NAIDOC week’ theme, for the children to colour in.

Miss Bec and Maddi then sat us on the mat for another group time where we sang some songs. The children particuarly like ‘open shut them’, ‘the wheels on the bus’ and our ‘hammer, hammer, hammer’ song. We then transitioned into the bathroom where the children washed their hands and sat down for lunch. Maddi also read a special book that her mum gave to her, which the children love!

The children have had a really good day today with lots of new things to do!

Love, Miss Thais, Bec and Maddi xx
