Happy Tuesday today Miss Shelby and Miss Thais welcome our friends Dominic, Luca, Charlotte, Ivy, Lachlan B, Latika, Hendrix, Lachlan H and Quinn.
We started our day playing outside in the babies yard with our toddler one friends where the children had fun swinging forwards and back on the rockers, playing in the new sandpit and looking at themselves in the wooden blocks mirrors.
After our play we all came inside where we joined Miss Shelby on the mat for some songs where we sang and did the actions to twinkle, twinkle little star, gallop went the frog and baa baa black sheep. Miss Thais also sang a song in Portuguese with the children. It was great watching our friends sing along and do the actions to the songs.
Miss Shelby set up a Christmas art activity for us to make a ginger bread man using craft glue and ginger and cinnamon shakers.This activity allowed the children to use their fine motor skills as they manipulated the paint brush as they painted the glue onto the picture of the ginger bread man and to also grasp and hold onto the shaker. They also did a great job at shaking the shaker up and down to decorate the glue with the ginger and cinnamon. Quinn said ” wow” as she was shaking the ginger and cinnamon off the paper and Charlotte said ” Ginger bread man,run as fast as you can”.
Miss Thais was busy painting the children’s hands with the Christmas colours red and green for some very special art work for our beautiful families.
Before lunch we sat with Miss Shelby for some Christmas songs and stories where we learnt the jingle bells song and Miss Shelby also sang and did the actions to when Santa got stuck in the chimney. The book today was Fair Dinkum Aussie Christmas, while looking at the picture we talked about what Australian animals we can see with us seeing a Kangaroo, Koala, Possum and Kookaburra. Hendrix and Ivy recognised that there was a picture of Santa as they both pointed to him and said ”Santa”.
