Warm welcome to our Wednesday in the Toddler Two room.
Today we welcome Noa, Edward, Kynell, Oliver, Mathias, Max, Jackson, Leiana, Indi and Macsen♥
We begun our morning outside after the rain stopped a little just in time for us to explore the outdoor environment! What joy we all had as we ventured to the BIG outdoor area with the two slides!!!!!! All children ran with glee as the gates opened and headed for the slides and obstacle course! The smiles on their faces says it all ♥
For children to have access to new environments enhances greatly on how they play, connect with other children, learn to share and to have freedom of movement.
After our morning of sliding, climbing, enjoying each others company and friends from Toddlers One it was time to come inside for a group time and transitioning to washing hands for morning tea. This morning for group time Miss Gabi read a book called ” Potty fun ” It was about how the Bear how learning to use the toilet/putty and wear a pair of big bear pants ! As we have a couple of friends toilet training at the moment it was a great book to read and the children interacted well with the book.
For morning tea today the children were able to self serve themselves using tongs. They all did an awesome job even with the assisted help they were all amazing! Allowing the children to self serve and doing things on their own with instructions and demonstrations helps children develop a sense of responsibility, it also makes them feel AMAZING when they have achieved something on their own and empowered! In the Toddler Two room we have a lot of self help skills such as children helping make their own bed, washing hands, and packing away after meal times. Some of our friends thoroughly enjoy helping to sweep at times and we love giving them the opportunity to do so. We strongly encourage children to do things like such, as we believe they can do this and love seeing them feeling confident and proud.
Indoor morning play consisted of:
- PLAYDOUGH!!!!!!!!! What an experience this was. The children enjoyed the feeling of the playdough in their hands as they rolled it, pressed it, squished and cut it up. This is a fun way to enhance on their fine motor skills.
- Musical instrument fun! We had a lot of joy playing with the different type of musical instruments that we got out of the box with our friends. Exploring different sounds was so wild and exciting!!!!
- Building with the blocks!! Practicing our hand and eye coordination skills.
- Problem solving with puzzles!
This afternoon we may or may not head outside….depending on the weather but we will have a whirl of laughter, joy and happiness throughout the afternoon.
Thank You for today♥
See you all soon.
Miss Gabi, Miss Jess and Miss Hope xx
